Hi All.I was hunting Cocoa Beach on April 14th,and recovered a brass or bronze soup spoon.I have found spoons and other utensils before, but they were all stainless steel. It also has a unusual design on it.On the handle it has what appears to be a helmet or cap and below that a shield outline, which contains a "S" shaped snake, followed by a line of vertical leaves. The spoon has no manufacturer's marks of any kind. I would appreciate any information on this find.I would post a couple of pictures of it with this post, but can not get them re-sized to post them here.I will be happy to e-mail them to anyone who is interested. Thanks,Ron

can't help with the spoon, but maybe the photos, in windows go to- start, then goto- pictures, right click on any picture, then click on " open with ", then choose " Paint ", then " Image ", then " Resize ", from there you can size it from the 100% that is showing to anything you want.

Hi Ron: It is probably brass. I have found a number of them both along the Atlantic Coast and in California. The symbol I can't help you with but the spoons were often used on passenger ships. Most of mine came from a favorite dive spot in California off of a certain beach. They are from the Pacific Steamship Company. Of course I can't be sure without seeing a picture but all that I have seen were associated with shipping companies.
