First, I was wondering if anyone might have some information on possible date ranges and a little background on this corporation. I can't find much online...but should I assume that this plate (3" x 4.5") is from an old crank telephone?

Second item (I know it's a spoon ) but I was wondering if anyone had some information about the marking (possible date ranges, etc.)...or perhaps a little information on date ranges based on the style of the item itself. The marking on the back is "DURHAMS P CO"

Third and final item is a flat button with the backmark "Robinson & Co." "Treble Gilt". I know there are some Robinsons in the backmark lists I have, but I'm unable to find a backmark that matches exactly. The Robinson companies had a pretty long tenure as button manufacturers. Perhaps one of you can help narrow it down a bit with respect to date.

Stromberg-Carlson was one of the big manufacturers of telephone equipment - like Western Electric, etc. They not only made the telephone sets, but all of the switchboard and central office equipment that allowed the sets to connect to make phone calls. Plus they made radios and other consumer items. The nameplate you have could have been used on anything they made, but the likely item would have been a set. The plate dates from after 1904 when the company was purchased and most of the offices relocated from Chicago to Rochester.

Thank you so much, John!

Now I'm hoping someone as helpful as you will chime in on the button and spoon...

I put the plate at 1914. :icon_profileleft:

Thanks for your reply. Could you share some of your reasoning or ideas behind the date you gave?

I believe your button would have to date from 1813-1828, as 1813 is when the company started button manufacturing, and in 1928 they added their new partner, Jones, to the backmark.

NH,

Thank you for the date range on the button!  It's older than I'd expected.

And mojjax,

I hadn't realized that a Montgomery Ward catalog like that could be so handy.  I might have to get one of those reprints just for IDing finds!

Ron and Ann,

The button backmark info appears above in my original post.  Robinson backmark.

Thank you all SO much for your help.
