I might have to redfine the word "treasure".

At least, for me. ;)

There is sooooo much time spent where nothing much of any intrinsic value comes to light. Yet, somehow, I consider every piece as being a bit of treasure. (Pull-tabs & can slaw notwithstanding. ;) )

Went to a regular school ground and played a bit on my corn stubble field today. Of course, not much yield still, somehow, they made me happier than I started out.

Here they are:

Clad.

Henry Fonda!?!?! LOL

Surveying tool?

Dunno. Brass or copper. :dontknow:

Also dunno. There's a remnant of iron rust but the rest isn't magnetic.

Nice pin, or a huge earring. ;)

Oh yeah, that big thing at the bottom of the first pic? I believe it's a lead pipe. I had heard of a "lead pipe cinch", but I never figured to find one! LOL That little section weighs almost 3 pounds! Very bendable too! :)

Thanks for peeking.

I know what you mean I spent about an hour today and came out with .48 cents in clad a pocketful of lead sinkers a couple floats and a big smile, just for being there!

I found an old rosé tag like that once and I thought it was nonetheless cool.

The interesting thing about this one? That I found it in the middle of a cornfield. :) Maybe I found an old house location in the field? Hmmmmm.

Thanks!

The object in the picture above the soccer pin is the handle lug from a brass or copper kettle.

Neat finds......................HH

I kind of figured a broken handle of some sort but it did seem a bit more ornate then just a plain handle. A brass or copper kettle fits that to a "T". Thanks for the info and taking a moment to say so!

I do have to admit though, it's getting a bit tough to not find the type of item I got in this hobby to find. Some people love militaria, some are in it for the silver and gold/ rings. Me, I just LOVE finding a nicely preserved very old coin. Nothing makes me quite as happy as finding a real old silver coin.

Still, even though I seem to do more walking in-between silver signals than I do over them. (My own fault. I'm not doing the amount of research I used to do. Gettin' old and lazy. ;) :dontknow: )

But, I never lose complete sight of the pleasure I do get from just getting out and finding ANYTHING! :)

Cool digs :-)

I know what you mean.

Particularly on good weather days, even when I find NOTHING but clad, wire from lobster pots, and tin, the feeling of having been out in the fresh air on a beautiful New England day just can't be beat. Truly.
