A dramatic 911 call recorded a Oklahoma man’s confrontation with an intruder who broke into his Ponca City home early Thursday morning. The homeowner ended up shooting the intruder several times when police didn’t arrive in time.

The roughly five minute 911 call begins frantically enough: “You better get these (expletive) here or they will die,” the man told a 911 dispatcher.

The homeowner stayed on the line with 911 as he waited for the police to arrive. However, the police didn’t arrive before the intruder found his way into the house.

“They’re beating on my front door right now,” he said.

“Okay, we’ve got them on the way,” the dispatcher replied.

“They better hurry up, because I will blow these (expletive) away.”

A short time later, the home intruder managed to gain entry into the home. It was at this point that the homeowner fired several shots at the suspect.

“I just put three rounds in his ass,” he informed the dispatcher.

Ponca City Police say the incident took place at around 4:30 a.m. Thursday. The intruder was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance and then airlifted to another Tulsa hospital. His condition was unknown Friday and police have not identified the suspect.

“The case is under investigation. Ponca City Police say once they complete the investigation the case will be turned over to the DA,” KOKH-TV reports.

Even if they broke in your house and tried to kill you. If they are leaving,and you shoot at them or go after them? YOU are now the bad guy....

Always think about how things will look in court.

And keep shooting til they are no longer a threat....if that just happens to mean they kept moving and you had to empty your gun and they can not testify....oh well....they were still a threat.

I don't know... after hearing the message, if it was me I wouldn't have been sitting there quietly on the phone waiting for him to break the door in. I would have put the phone on speaker and yelled the cops are coming or better yet The cops are coming and I have a gun pointed at the door. If it was a burglar and he was kicking at the door he probably thought no one was home, burglars usually like to be quiet. If it was just a drunk banging at the wrong door its unfortunate he picked that door. Either way the guy inside had a gun ready, I think he could have tried yelling out first before it escalated to this point. Before you call me a gun grabbing liberal, I am not. I own two hunting rifles that had belonged to my father. And I usually vote republican.

There are some democrats that own guns, but if you look the vast majority of the congressional sponsors of all gun control bills are Democracts.....

I think the poster was responding to the statement by another poster - " We are not about parties in this section". Obviously this section is completely about the over generalization of political parties and ideologies. The word "liberal" is dropped more in one night than on a year of rush!?

And would you consider the 90 percent of Americans and 80 percent of NRA members that favor UBCs to all be "democrats" or "liberals"?

He was within his rights to defend himself in his home. Although his statement “You better get these (expletive) here or they will die,” at the beginning of his call.... Sounds like he has already premeditated the outcome if the intruder breached his door. I wonder if the situation would have had another outcome if the homeowner had yelled out to the person that he was armed and intended to shoot and kill any intruder at the beginning of the call instead of stating his intent to kill to the 911 dispatcher? Could this guy end up in the slammer now because of his words to the 911 dispatcher?

Under Fla law someone breaks into your home you have the right to use deadly force, you are not required to retreat, count to 10 or give a warning shot.

Odds are he was not whispering and was excited and voice would reflect it....
