A few years ago I dug a bottle dump and found a sword. I posted it but don't know if anyone remembers. Anyway I gave up on the spot because the more I dug into the hillside the harder it got due to over burden. Someone at one time dumped dirt on top. Well today I went back because I didn't feel like knocking on doors. I find the yes rate is lower on rainy days. So anyway I dug a bit more into the bank. Wasn't finding anything special. I use my detector in the hole. Not my good one cause its rainy but my whites xlt. There isn't much metal here. So anyway I got a bit of a cavern going into the hill stuck the detector in and got a hit. Knew there was more in there. Started digging in and the hill fell in :( almost gave up but was curious. Dug all the burden away and out came this. It's the second one of these from this spot. Has a name engraved in it but can't read it yet. Was very excited to say the least. Will go on the wall next to the other one. Other one had the handle and scabbard. Thanks for looking had to share was to excited to wait.

Great find! It would be interesting to see if you can track any history on it.

I tried with the last one but kept hitting dead ends but I will try with this one to.

Great sword! If the edge is dull, it is not a reproduction. They go for $600 plus
Congrats

Wow!Thats pretty incredible!!

Too cool! Finding a sword, even if it's a bit more modern. That's some real treasure hunting.

that is awsome! i only know of people finding 1 in there whole life time, you did it in a few years, and from the same spot with two swords! you aare one lucky duck! HH

It would be awesome to get it restored to it's former glory but probably expensive.

Ya it looks like that. Stuff I was finding with it was from 30s to 40s so I was guessing it was around that age?

Sweet find, but keep digging dude - that might be the old official US Marine sword dump!

Very frustrating when the hillside keeps sliding down on top of your site, I have a gold mining spot like that too. Nuggy
