Found this dirt digging yesterday.

I'm thinking it has something to do with rigging with ropes....

I suppose it could also be a french Bull Dog?

Its a weapon used like brass knuckles, carried like or on a keychain.

I actually considered that! Kinda what I thought, but really too gruesome to think about. I did put it on my hand and it fit, but was too thin to be comfortable.

Here's another picture with a ruler beside it.

That's kinda what I was thinking it was. My nephew really likes it, but that would just get him in trouble.

Is there a formal name of this gizmo?

Don't we find the oddest things in this hobby? I don't think I'll carry that thing in my truck. Just another add to the "odd things" collection.

You're right! I Googled the term narrowed down to similar weapons. So it does have a name.

It's cool, a keeper, and just really deadly design. Not sure I like it.

ITS NOT A WEAPON BUT A NICE KITTY CAT FOR PROTECTION.

Man you could screw a handle on this and it would make an excellent weed hoe / tiller

Heck Yea I'd Use It If I Was Attacked! Either that or SHOTS FIRED!!

Groupon Rocks! HA!

The defensive weapon was called a "rape kitty" in the 80's. Today's design has a softened look but is just as effective.

Deepseeker, I have one of the Brutus the Bulldog that Mackaydon linked to and they are for self defense but not very comfortable and with the fact that I carry concealed and a knife, this just seemed to be something that might never get used unless I had no place to put the others. Interesting little device for hard plastic and yes, an oddity. Rather not get that close in an attack if possible. and wouldn't give to a kid, could see them playing around and by accident, not pulling a punch with the thing a putting two holes in someone else! Ouch! Neat find anyway!

I still have it sitting on my desk top looking at it....

If the world falls apart I guess I'll have that thing on me at all times!

I do have three cats to protect, maybe that's why I found it :)
