What the heck is this? Rang up like a quarter. The pins are spring mounted at the base. Blunt ends, so, not needles. Never seen anything like it except for some electronics components, but, all those I've seen had much shorter pins and they weren't springy. They also had something written on them to help I.D. This has no numbers or letters at all and the black "knob" is solid.

This ad says this one is a espresso stirrer, so used to ""stir/fluff" up the coffee before brewing, I guess it could also be used to make the decorative patterns/swirls in the milk on top.
Maybe they brought their espresso maker to the beach??

No, it's to improve the extraction from ground coffee used to make an espresso (which is served black unless you use it as the base for other coffee types).

Whew!! That would have scared the carp out of me if I had dug it and glad that its identified now ! Don't some foreign anti-personnel mines have stiff wire protrusions at the top?
