Found at an old homesite, 1850's.
I haven't found any coins older than 1919.
Looks like this was once enamaled.
Third pic is of the back and there apears to be a pin attachment site which would orient the pin as in pic #4.
Any help would be appreciated.

The middle parts kinda look like the levers and pads of a clarinet or similar instrument.

I'm with you. Lower left pic, seems to show remains of a missing clasp,
which would have held the brooch in that aspect of a musical instrument.

I've seen something like that before, but can't place the thought. Seems like it was a celtic themed brooch, with the scrolling around the perimeter.
Will check back if it comes to me.

Good call! Could be the remains of a Victorian era Tara brooch or Irish brooch - popular in the 1850's - 70's.

Thanks, I checked Google Images for Tara Broach and can see the possible connection but there are none that are even remotely similar.
I do appreciate your interest.
