I actually found this in my yard, In Delaware, without my detector actually, it was out on the surface and I dont know how it got there. When I scan it with my Garrett at pro it's at 58-60, its heavy for its size, 6.4 oz. 95% of the surface is non magnetic but there is a small spot towards the point that is but doesn't quite support it's own weight on one. As far as cleaning all I did was brush the dirt off. One side as you can see is sort of smooth. Any ideas?View attachment 1662766 20181220_223402.jpeg20181220_223410.jpeg20181221_211630.jpeg

I should also add it's very hard, I've whacked it a few times with a hammer, tried scratching the smoother side with a knife, screwdriver, no dents breaks and barely makes a visable scratch mark but removes no material

A chunk of a UFO that fell out of a C-5 that was ferrying it from Roswell to Dover.

What part of Delaware might that be from? I've found similar chunks on the beaches in lower (slower) Delaware, where I live.

Not good with rocks, it looks almost like it could be a meteorite. Don't take my word on it though, like I said, I don't know anything about rocks.

A very small spot towards the pointed end is but it's not very strong. If I hold it up by the magnet it falls off. The other 95% or so of the surface is not magnetic.

That sort of suggests it may have been magnetized by being near something electrical. Or maybe just some inconsistent "hot-rock" that is not uncommon around here. I fear you may not get a helpful answer on this one, but if there is one to be had, this is the place. Good luck.

The feel and weight of it and how it feels when I hit it with the hammer makes me think solid metal, doesn't feel or sound like rock at all, it makes a "tink" or rings when hit. Feels way to heavy to he a rock also, feels even kind of heavy to he iron even. I like the one guys idea to see if its lead by torching it but it feels too solid to be lead but I'll try.
