I have two caches I have beeen looking for on is jesse james cache. I have found signs of his and a story passed down from my gggand dad help find them one is a turkey trac on a rock near a river really in the river and other things but have found no story on paper to match the story. The other on is a cannon made of gold painted to look like it was iron and in transpor tit got stuck in a swamp and lost (Sunk) This is another story from old timers but some say it was lost in a swamp that is protected by the state and the other from locals (oldtimers) say it never made it there and was lost before it got that far. These are both in wv but i would like to hear any story that sounds like these. They might help. Please help I have been looking for about 2 years for info Thanks Erik

Boy am I surprised! I associated Jesse James with mid-west robberies and holdups. But a quick google search showed that on Sept. 5, 1875 he robbed the Huntington Bank in West Virginia. Could this be related to one of your searches?

Last year on TV found was common payments were made and hid so Jessie could pay by telling where jars were hid. Small amounts of buried jars were recovered in pastures, some by trees , some jars found by stone fences. Thought that would help. (Check: "Discovery channel").

Tube, you better sit down for this one. IF Jesse James and J. Frank Dalton were the same person
Jesse flew on an aeroplane from Oklahoma to New York City. Consult Texas Jay for details.

This is correct. The bank is still here in Huntington but it was relocated about a block from its original location some years ago.

A friend of mine named Jay told me his mother found a bunchof old coins (several silver dollars) on a river bank (big Sandy) when she wasa child, close to the swimming pool that is right across the bridge fromcattlestburg KY...they always thought it was part of JJs robbery becasue of the dates on the coins. Been meaningto get over there and check it out...been too tied up. Good luck!

erik12152003, Johnathan Swift used turkey tracks to mark a cache; just an idea--------------Tod R.

I have never heard or read anything about jesse james being over that far east, but i know for fact Jesse James has been to oklahoma/Indian territory and there is a legend here about a cache around here suppose to be several and in missouri where he is from. i have been trying to find out myself about where and how to find anything about jesse james's exploits over here. but i can call a friends dad about that cannon and see what he has heard about it for you bro.

wow i stand corrected i guess he was there! amazing i only new him being that far was when he was with the confederates fighting the war nice!

The turkey track might not be JJ. Might be someone else.Im not familiar with US marks, but you have to take pics of all the marks.Document everything.whatever you see. Sometimes what you think is nothing later turns up as a mark.If there is one mark, the next one isnt far away.

I've come across some interesting stuff on Jesse James being here in Ohio. He loved to travel....

His brother Frank robbed a bank in Huntsville, Al. He was captured and tried. Found innocent even though he had the money with him. Declared a great Confederate hero and sent on his way.
