9/14/08 These pix are from my garden apartment that is in the first building facing River Road in Schiller Park. My apartment was the only building that didn't take on any water!!! My building is on a tiny hill, that was the only thing that saved me.

View from my bedroom window.

Glad you're staying dry

I'll bet it's a different story though for the folks at the Methodist camp down the road.

LOL, I think it is a requirement to have gills you you live there!!! :tongue3:

Wow. I'm glad to see you're high and dry. Now would be a good time to pick up a couple water detectors, lol.

WOW!! Thanks for sharing the pics TF! You should be in the clear now if you haven't gotten any water so far. Keep all your stuff off the floor just in case though!

For some hard core metal detecting, you could pick up a row boat and some waders and row out to your favorite spot... drop anchor and jump in! It would be pretty safe from weirdos wandering around through the woods and what not. Heh.

I bet you are looking forward to the completely saturated ground when the water recedes. I know my dad (litefire56) and I would like to come out there at some point.

You know, I'm not so sure the high water levels and flooding would stop even some of the oddballs that frequent this area. As a matter of fact, I tend to think of them as being like salamanders- they all come out when it gets like that, lol.

I'm picturing a scene like Night of the Living Dead, with all of the shanty dwellers and methlab workers coming out of the woods to kill you for your row boat.

Well, I guess it would be good to have a trolling motor then :D

DUDE will will not believe this
when i was a kid infant till about 6 i lived on Susy Ln.
WOW small world

That Susy Lane, she's always wet. Take her out in the canoe and give her a paddlin'.

Hey, how's the scout camp?

Well, they say detecting's better when the ground's wet and you are a marine so, "GET 'ER DONE".
