I have several hundred Mizuno warm ups/batting jackets that I want to sell on E-Bay.

They all have stickers on them and have been embroidered with a sports logo, All sizes and two colors to
choose from. I have seen postings where they offer colors and sizes to choose from but for the
life of me I am scared as all get out to use E-Bay.

I believe you can print shipping labels, confirmations and so on right on the bay but have never really
tried to put one together. The reason, I am kind of apprehensive about my first listing.

What did everybody here do to "Learn" how to post on E-bay the first time. I know what I want to
do but am just worried that it won't be right.

I work in technology and am versed in several Programming languages, Server Maintenance and File distribution programs but E-Bay scares the living heck out of me....:laughing7:

It's not as hard as it seems. It does take awhile. After you log in, just go to the sell and list your item section. It triggers a list of drop downs, like for categories, etc. Take it from there. You can always go back and can also preview your listing before submitting. Look at somebody else's first. That always helps.

Pretty simple. I understand your fears. You can list the jackets in seperate listings, with amount available. Say you have 50 of red, you can list "Red warm up Jacket ..etc'' and in the listing put "Quantity available 50" There are easy to use areas. The problem you WILL have, is if you have never listed on ebay, and have just started an account, you are limited to 10 listings a month, until you become reputable. You may want to figure that out before you go on with listing. If you are looking to sell in large quantities it is not possible with a new account.

Yea, for your case its actually better because all your items are simliar....Good Luck!

When first starting out on eBay I really recommend to anyone that selling some low dollar items to build up your feedback first is a really good idea! $5-$10-$15-$20 items. Jumping right on eBay without any feedback & selling say $100 or higher items isn't a good way to start! Build up 10-20 positive feedback's first on some easy to sell but yet cheap items. Anyone will hesitate or even not buy from someone selling $100 or more items with 0 feedback or even 5 feedback's. Heck even selling 15 $1-$2 items & getting 15 positive feedback's is better than no feedback's. Then start selling your higher dollar items!

Do some trial runs first. Sell 1 at a time for now just to get the hang of it.

It isn't technically hard... BUT, getting it "right" is an art form that will take years to master. No joke.

When I first started selling, i'd owned my first computer for maybe a month, I didn't know the difference between a modem and a browser, typed about 8 words a minute, but I did it. I'm still more or less computer illiterate, but I manage the basics and am pretty good at certain types of research. If I managed it, you shouldn't have any problem making up a listing to sell on Ebay. Yes labels can be purchased and printed via ebay, I would recommend it. It makes everything easier and delivery confirmation is automatically uploaded that way also. Not to mention you can have your packages picked up from the house or if you live close to a Post office like I do, you don't have to wait in line to drop off your packages. Shipping prices are important for any seller especially a new one. That is where many new sellers make mistakes, by not charging enough. I prefer to charge a flat fee myself. It's easier and a lot less hassle. Just remember the cost of doing business on ebay is 10% across the board, including your shipping charges and not including any listing fees (50 per month are free anyway), plus another .30 per trans. and 2.9% paypal charge. I agree that you should try to sell a few low dollar items first to build up a little feedback and get the hang of making a listing. Also, paypal will hold funds for a certain amount of time until you are somewhat established, more info on that here-https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/security/paypal-funds-availability .

Ditto all the advice above. The only thing I would add is to be very prompt with your shipments and be sure to pack your items so they survive the rough handling they will receive in transit. Buyers, understandably, don't want to wait a long time to receive their purchase and they REALLY don't like getting their package only to discover the contents have been damaged. I wouldn't worry about the mechanics of working ebay. With your tech skills, it will be a piece of cake.

Prompt with you shipping is the biggest one right now. All over the internet I hear of accounts with incredibly high feedback numbers being suspended for that issue. The little "Star" system they have now. If you say you will ship in 4 days, you better ship THE next day.

Get a digital scale on Ebay. {first feedback} A 200 pound scale can be bought for $50 or so. Go to USPS.com and order FREE boxes. They will deliver them to your door. With your scale and free boxes and printing your own labels, shipping is easy. Good Luck!

One thing I think is important that I learned is offer 2 or 3 shipping options. On items I thought would be a Christmas present I offered slow medium and fast. Listing isn't hard, the mobile app is very very different from the website on listing. More options on the web but its easy and fast to post with the mobile for simple items. The worst part I think is the probation period. As you go you'll get your money faster but it won't be instant till your off. Good luck.

With all due respect, how many items have you actually sold on ebay? Just curious.

Don't be nervous one bit.

My suggestion is to make one single listing for each size and color:

1 listing for one red jacket, small
1 listing for one red, medium
1 listing for one black, large
Etc.

Doing it this way, you'll be able to easily monitor your stock, and when one sells, just hit relist.

After you make your first listing, and it posts, click on the "Sell one like this", and it will pull up the listing you just did...and then update the correct info.

It is a lot easier than you think, and you are worrying for nothing.
