I always wanted to have a parrot, one who would sit on my shoulder and maybe talk. So I drove 3 hours to pick him up and two girls to go with him. They are very demanding. I have them in the living room in a larger - actually huge carrier with windows in it. They seem to like it here and like to be picked up and played with. The cats are not especially amused. The big cat, Smoke, just realized they were here this morning. I think he may not have been feeling well the last few days. He is almost 18 years old.
So I got the boy parrot out this morning and we played awhile. He sat on my shoulder awhile.
Here's a picture:
I thought parrots were green, did I get ripped off?
His name is "Silver" and he is an Old English Duckwing Bantam Gamebird (rooster). Very sweet. Sorry about the orientation of the pic. I don't take selfies and forgot to orient the camera correctly.
