🔎 UNIDENTIFIED I have a couple of finds and I am trying to figure out the time periods for.

1st is a buckle looks like brass I included a couple angles, found on a farm that was not showing in the 1872 map but is there in 1960s aerial photos

2nd is button from an old homesite from the 1800s, this was shallow at around an inch down

this may be modern but not sure either a bone horn or plastic backer
 

Buckle looks colonial to me, button looks more modern. But I'm no expert, Im sure someone smarter will be by in a moment. Looks like you have a good spot though if you found that buckle!

I think the buckle is newer than that, looks like a twisted up suspender buckle and not a shoe/knee buckle (which is what i thought at first glance)

I think you are correct. Looking at it again it appears to be pretty thin.
it is very thin. I was thinking it may be a suspender buckle but my knowledge of buckles is limited
