I had a good week at the beach

I really enjoy reading and seeing all the great finds you folks show. I thought I'd add a few of mine for the week.

I hunt the beach most every day, being as I only live about 10 minutes away. Sometimes before work, sometimes after work, sometimes before and after.

Monday morning was the best two hrs before work I ever had. I got into a mess of quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies, that kept me digging for nearly the hole two hrs. Also got a toy car, a silver ring with a blue stone, and a hunk of old wood that was pretty deep, that had a brass nail in it. From a boat, I suspect. I hung the ring on it for display.

Wednesday evening, about 7:00 I hit the beach again for a short hunt till dark. I didn't do well on the clad, .58, but had my first 2 ring hunt. My first was a nice little silver ring with what looks like jade in it, and the second ring as I was finishing up, was a 14K mens wedding band. My second gold ring in 3 weeks.

Really cool finds! What kind of detector are you using?

WTG,

Are you hunting an ocean beach, lake beach or what? I'm always curious, not to come hunt it myself, just curious...

Congrats on all the rings and clad, nice! Did you find the rings in the wet or dry sand? HH :)

I'm using a Minelab Sovereign GT at an ocean beach. The southern most coastline of NC. Holden Beach.

Monday's morning hunt was all found in the wet sand at low tide. Wednsday evening hunt was all found in the dry sand above the high water line.

That ring looks like it is a silver and turquoise ring. My sister loves that style. Glad I didn't find it... I promised her that any ring I find like that is hers! Heh heh Nice finds WTG

Sorry Mumzie, there's not a hint of blue like in turquoise, but less than opaque green as in jade. As it was found in the dry sand and I suspect a recent drop, I see no salt water effect on it.

Congrats BobG,

Those are some great finds. I like to hunt the beach too, but don't get to do it as much as I would like. Keep up the good work.

Great finds Bob,

Nice and display on the old wood, cool. Thanks!

Smiles!

Look's like some pretty nice find's....and congrat's on your double,WTG and HH!!

Thanks folks on your interest in my finds. I got another last evening after work. One week after I hit that double.
I'll post in another thread.

Nice finds....

Im allercig to beaches :P theres allways bunch of people staring when Im doing dedecting. But soon when spring is coming and its too cold to lay out there Im hopefully going to some beach finds. I just love, love to dedect deeeeep silent creepy woods...

No need to be alergic to the beaches or stares of the sunbathers. Enjoy the scenery, mingle with them. In reality, they're interested in what's going on, especially the young'ns.I usually give away a few of the coins to the kids, but always caution them to stay close to their parents.

Using headphones is also a plus. It keeps you from being an annoyance.
