I knew exactly what the ford token was as soon as I dug it... I just didn't know the history behind it... its very cool to have one... I had a friends tell me has hasn't found one in a while but everyone ones he did find sold for about $35..... but I doubt I'll ever sell any of my tokens... got a pretty nice display of all my tokens/dogtags over the years...

Are those FORD Tokens fairly rare? How many have you or you know of been found?

Here is what I found on it...

This medal was issued for the "Century of Progress Exposition" 1933-1934. The fair was an successful effort to show that the city of Chicago was a center for science, engineering and technology. There are several medals that were issued for the fair including an Official Medal. Your piece shows the front of a radiator from a 1933 Ford; the words FORD, in script, appear across it. On the left and right is the date "1933". The reverse shows a monogram of "V-8" inside of an open wreath. Above the wreath is "THIRTY YEARS", below is OF PROGRESS.

The Ford tokens are not rare,I've dug 2 and a friend got one,There are a cool find and you can get a bit for them on Ebay.I think there are a couple of variations.

Merc and an old Ford token, awesome!!
