I had a rare opportunity to search a plot of land created as a result of canal dredging. The neighborhood behind the lot was recently dredged. Searched for about 4 hours over the weekend. I found nothing but trash. I dug everything just because I didn't know what to expect. I plan on going back next weekend. This florida heat is killer even in the morning. Anyone else working with a garrett gtax 400? Anyone else ever have a chance to search a property like this?

Willie, where in FL do you live. I live on the east coast, hot, but usually you get the breeze off the ocean. I know that the middle of the state can get unbearable.

Welcome to the forum, you'll really learn a lot and have a fun time doing so! Excellent bunch of helpful, supportive people here.

Willie if the Dredge brought up the soil from a canal you may not find anything to hot or you will find the larger items first and then have to go back over the same area again. The top layer of muck was first to come out and this means its at the bottom. You may want to dig a section about five feet square down about six inches and the try hitting it again too. Let us know .It sounds good.HH

I get skunked once in awhile too but that next scoop may hold a treasure. That's what keeps us coming back. Great ain't it? JIM
