Hey, I get it, you are a Newbie! There are NO stupid questions. Please investigate what an error coin actually is by definition. They are errors made At the mint. They aren’t any weird looking coin that has had a rough life. The sooner you understand, the sooner you’ll be able to look for the right ones. Put that nickel aside. In a year from now, ask yourself if it’s an error. Best wishes. You have the drive to hunt, now sharpen your skills! 🍀

I wanted a second opinion cause I too ok it to a coin shop and they said something totally opposite of that. So I see that some people don't know there stuff about coins!!!!!!!!

True, there are some dealers that just sell, and don't really have the knowledge. Bear in mind as well, there are many facets to numismatics, a person can be an expert in one area and not know about another. One thing is for sure though, there is no way this could have happened at the mint. It is damaged for sure.

I'm not saying anything about but it has characteristics of being damage but at the same time it has those characteristics of having errors to.

There does appear to be something off with the face but maybe post up some really crisp pictures (full disclosure: I know squat about errors). With crisp pics, others will be able to give better opinions.

Nice find thanks for sharing and WELCOME to TREASURENET !!1 Great pictures ALSO :)

What type of error do you think it is.

When you post about coins it is a good idea to include the weight (in grams to the second decimal point) and the diameter. Lots of info can be garnered to help with a determination.

With that being said, this look like PSD (Post Strike Damage).
