My first time out with my whites xlt I decided to go to a lewis and clark state park, I'm still unsure if it's alright to metal detect in a state park?
anyways I found an old Master Lock and in the same hole there were two silver keys. I have done some research but I am new at the hunt, Is there anyone that can tell me about what year my lock is?? Thank You, Shane: [email protected]

hi, as to your question about Md'ing.

Washington http://www.parks.wa.gov/

Metal Detecting
Metal detecting is permitted at more than 67 state parks throughout Washington. Users of metal detectors must register first with Washington State Parks and comply with posted regulations. Rules are summarized in "Your Guide to Metal Detecting in Washington State Parks," available from park rangers or by calling (360) 902-8500; Telephone Device for the Deaf (360) 664-3133.

just a guess really but I'm thinking that style was made for quite a while. I think it's the #77. I can't really find much about it, but you could contact master lock co, and ask them about it.

Nice lock. Did you clean it? It looks as if it was recently lost. (no rust)

Good call, Ken!

It's the Master Lock Co.'s "Jungle King" #77, which was introduced in June 1932 and remained in production until the late 1930's, according to The National Locksmith Guide to Antique Padlocks by Jack Roberts.

By the way, Shane...
