Hmmm pretty smooth. Any pecking or polish wear? Nice rock looks like it should be something???

Is your garden near a river, or do you find lot's of rounded rocks laying around?

Where I grew up hunting in Allen County in Indiana, the chances of it being an artifact would be close to 100% because we just don't have much of that type of rock. Where I hunt in Kentucky rocks like that are natural and common place.

I agree with Joshua. Context calls that shot. If somebody carried it to where you found it from any considerable distance, it was probably used as a tool of some sort, even if the purpose escapes us.

I live on a hill overlooking a park that once was a vally with a small stream running through it. I use to find arrow heads in the area. But it was a small stream and nothing fast enough to cause the smoothness on the rock.

From the picture (bottom end), it looks like there could be a little use wear indicating it could have been used as a hammerstone.

What is the size ? Cooking stone used to heat water maybe?
