I really don't know what they are other than being very interesting. I would have picked them up as well. Hopefully somebody will chime in soon.

To me, the first item reminds me of a small anchor. Weather it be for in the water anchor, or to anchor something in place on land.
The other item reminds me of half of a mortar and pestle set for grinding grains, plants and the like.
Just my first thoughts on them. Someone a lot smarter than me will probably jump in soon and let us know what they really are. That is why this is one of my favorite sites. We have a lot of very smart people here. Anyway, hope this helps.
