By the way folks... this posting is part of my "new years resolution" to start posting pics of our (my girl and I) finds...
This is only part of the "haul" today...
I nailed at least 25 pull tabs... 3-4 bottle caps etc... foil... foil cap liners etc...
I leave those in the trash...
If I brought that crap home... you would be able to metal detect my place from space I would have so much in a year.
So... New year... I will post any other "cool" finds.

Here is weight...

Nice save! I have the same jeweler's mandrel as you. Comes in handy  Great start to the new year! :D

Grats, ARRC!

I love that ring. If it were mine I would never ever sell it. When I was a kid, George Reeves was Superman on TV... in black & white! I still have all the old family 8mm with a 6 year old me, with a bath towel tied around my neck, running down the driveway with my arms out in front of me like I'm flying, and jumping over the bank and landing in the dirt feet-first. Superman was awesome back when kids didn't have Internet, video games and cell phones.

Super find!

Thanks Higgy... I will save it for you. It will go into the pile.
If ever we should meet... tis yours.

That's a cool ring man. And congrats on the new super powers. Looking forward to your posts. That's a great resolution. It's cool that you and your lady enjoy this hobby together

Yeah she had no choice... :)
Its all I like to do. heh:)

PS> you can start your new "like" button New Years Resolution by clicking it (heh) :)-

j/k Ahab man...
Anyway yeah she has done it for ten years now.
I gave her the old whites... and she hasn't let go since...
She is full on addict.
IN FACT... SHE made me go this time... I was on the fence because of things I needed to do...
But you see what won out...
Responsibility... or metal detecting... heh
I have always leveled that field in my mind by saying to myself... "I have a responsibility to metal detect"

HAHAHA I remember flying with my bath towel cape also.:laughing7:

That's a nice silver addition. So, do you just gently tap the ring down the mandrel with a lead mallet to straighten out that ding?
