I found something special to my heart

I was at the fort crawling on my stomach to try to get in there today so when I turn around I saw this eight-year-old with a very small metal detector, So his mother saw me and asked was I the guy that wants the other side of the bayou I said yes I am that’s where I found my 8 pound cannonball,my banner 8 Reales and my first large cent. She saw me one day and she said,”You are the one that was inspirational for him just start metal detesting. So I gave him a buffalo nickel that I found and told him never give up his name was River. I wish I would’ve gotten a picture of him with this little bitty detector. Made me feel good inside

That is what started me in our hobby, it was an older couple detecting at the one room school house I went to. I showed them where the original school had been when it burned down and they had a blast finding relics from there.

Thank you to all yall that I literally share a big part of my life with. This was the perfect thing to end off 2020 so after meeting River and his mother having a great conversation I knew it was time to go and leave 2020 behind me. It was my best year in detecting and a challenging year in my personal life. So with that being said may 2021 be a year of Happiness, Good health and Great Treasures

It was a complement I wasn’t prepared for he had enthusiasm in his eyes and I gave him his first buffalo nickel and I gave his mother my card and I said you call anytime he need some tips in life. To inspire such a young child who saw me doing it one week and then him being 8 feet behind me but I didn’t know anybody was there I just don’t get better than that
