Finally got a B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L day (clear, 60sF), so I spent a few hours at my permission.
Aside from a fistful of rusty nails (I tossed all but the really old square ones, which I'm saving for the big presentation at the end) I found a few artifacts. IDK what they all are, but they seemed kinda different than what I usually see on YT.

Top Left: Iron caster, TID low 70s. I'm guessing from the style of wheel and accumulated rust that it's... not recent.
Top Right: Decorative casting--broken, TID 90. Appears to be pot metal, but at one time was painted/plated gold, some of which can still be seen.
Middle Left: Metal bead(?) TID low 80s. At first I thought this was a musket ball or similar, but after cleaning, it turned out to be what looks like a metal bead, 0.34" dia. at widest point; hole is 0.25" dia. smooth bore. Metal is non-magnetic, not brass, no corrosion.
Middle: Painted brass tab off of... something. :dontknow:
Bottom: Animal bone. It was in the hole. Owner is a veterinarian; she'll either love it or hate it. :dontknow:

Your bead looks like a ferrule (?) for a compression fitting maybe.
That looks & sounds right.
My innate curiosity is still wondering about the material. I double-checked, and it's definitely not brass, not magnetic, and scratching reveals silver color like stainless(?) but softer than stainless.

It also looks to be a tad larger i.d. than 0.25" (6.35 mm)

I would side on it being brass.
Go out into the natural lighting and has a look.
One little scratch it might appear white, but it could be a light 70/30 (yellow) brass.
Your sizing was OD?

I'm sure on color; that's why I double-checked (and now triple-checked with some emery).

Plenty of natural lighting around (We keep reptiles, remember?) 😉

Sizing is ID (See ferrule in upper ID jaws).

Last night we were looking at this stuff, and Missus noticed something I missed completely. The bone has a ~3/64" hole drilled through it at the small end, as if it had been hung on a string or wire.

Your bone appears to be a "coon bone". A raccoon penis bone. They were sometimes worn as a pendant or ornament, thus the hole drilled in it for a string or chain. A bit of backwoods lore.

I wouldn't know about that. It looks to us like a tibia or a humerus.

Staring at this stuff, we're thinking the fancy casting looks like it came from the base of a lamp.

Not this one per se, but something similar.
