I was demolshing an old house in groose point michigan in the late 90's. And at one time there was a well on the poperty. Well, what i did not know there was a passage from the house to well that was underground. As i tore it up it was a shock to me. So i used my backhoe to clear enough earth away to go in the hole. And what i find shocked me. I found a table and on that table was a map laid out. Well on the map was old ww1 toy soilders. Just sitting there like they day they had been left behind. As i opened the drawer on the old table i found even more and small wooden barn/house. The paint on all these old lead was amazing.
The house was abandoned in the 1930s in the start of the depression. Then my father bought the house in the 60s wanting to fix it. Never happened, i got the land and knocked down the old house.
It amazed my those toys sat there for more than 70 years with out beging in day light.
I recently went to the city and found out that old house was built in 1878. And the original owner's land streched by to lake st.clair.
Maybe later i will post picture of the toys.
Just wanted to share this story. i am new here.
