I've been looking at some old topo maps of my place and discovered two old homesites from the 1930's to late 50's. Swinging around one of them yesterday I kept getting this large weird 55 to 57 up to a steady 82 to 84 signal. Not much on the iron audio so curiosity got my shovel out. It was about 5 inches down.
At first I thought it was the end of a gas line so I started digging and pulling it out. It bent a little about a foot from the end. When I got about 4 ft dug it popped out. WTH? Oh, funny it's a drag link off something, an old tractor or an old car, hmmmm.

Well this morning where it had bent was some oil under it. It had leaked out from the cracks where I had bent it. Whatever it was on must have leaked oil like a sieve to fill up the inside off the drag link. Funny it still smells like good motor oil. I might just oil that squeaky door with some of it.
