Metal Detecting
What I thought was a 2 Buffalo and 2 wheatie was exciting because it was in a small closed off area that I have walk-through and metal detected over 50 times but now I’m using my 6 inch and go in slow. 1937 buff,1935 Buff, 1936 Wheatie and a crusty wheat

Boy was I wrong the signals kept come
1912 V nickel 1936 Buff
Unknown Buff
1936 Buff
1935 D wheat
and a 1937 wheat. Now I would have sworn this was a War nickel but it’s a 1963 clad which still made me my nickel trifecta today. IMG_0145.jpg Yes the hole got bigger. Guys this is crazy when you walk into the fort you have a wall on your left and about 2 feet on your right eye bushes and trees and then you get out in the open I have metal detected walking in there and walking out of there at least 50 times and I’m not exaggerating. Using my 6 inch coil on my 800 tweaking up some advanced tones with the speed recovery of four I hot two buffaloes and two Wheaties.

As you see New Orleans was been built on oyster shells, white shells, red brick, not to mention the modern trash. I prefer to use my Shovel Big Red and just break through the bricks, roots whatever it takes I’ve broken 4 shovels and after my Piranha broke they said this is the last one they’re sending me. Some of our best fines are in white shells matter fact sometimes that’s the only thing that makes a little island in the swamps.

Native American concrete....if it weren't for shell, there would not be any high ground in our swamps. Funny thing tho. They'll throw our butts in jail if we wanted to explore the middens but most of the roads in my area were made out of shell the powers that be allowed to be taken from mounds within our National Forest.

Same here white shells and oyster shells or what kept our city from sinking more than it has I have found two tomahawks in the white shells on the side of the fort I was swinging at today. Two of my prized possessions. Another Shellmound in the swamps next to the railroad tracks in Roddick I found plenty of military buttons are trying a J hook and a half times etc.

Awesome old coin finds, congrats! :occasion14:

Hi Truth ,, Slowing down allows for target response timing tracking to motion speed .Thats the way its always been with a Metal Detector . That idea of go quick and cover as much ground as possible is just B.S . Keep up the good work . Gold is the quite whisper against the ground chatter . Small coil make your metal detector far more stable .TP

Great finds Truth! Thanks for sharing!

Nice finds and food photos. Congrats!

Wow that's great! You gave me an idea. Putting the 6" coil on for tomorrow.

I agree tinpan I guess I had to learned that on my own everything I did was “all the way or not at all” Not to mention I’ll live my life like that in many fashions which eventually would come crashing down. You can’t redline forever.

Gene I’m telling you even having it on recovery speed four it was ranging targets to eight or 9 inches. You got a play around with these machines try everything you can because that’s what it’s therefore

I am Psyched for tomorrow. I go to this one 1800s place and always use the 15 inch or stock 11. Can't wait!

Well done on the spill and going after the unchallenged parts of the site.

Congrats on the nice coins. I struggle to find buffalos with a date visible, and Liberty V nickels are scarce for me. Good luck out there.

Really nice spill...!
Savoring your time on your sites, always allow something to come out of there.
Low and slow...!
