MERRY CHRISTMAS All :) when I was a kid many moons ago , there was one photo in our album of my Dads war album that was taken by the Red Cross that was touring the Prison Camps in Japan. The story go's was that a group of inspectors from the Red Cross stoped at Camp Shamsepo that my father was held captive and convinced the Japs that
they had to photo the prisoners for record & since it was a hot day and knowing that the Camp Comandant would'nt want to make his prisoners suffer in such heat, it would be a good idea to have the men take off their shirts.

We lost the photo about 30 years ago and I found it on the Internet, I will be sending it to a photo shop and fraiming it,
My Dad is in the middle of the photo. MERRY CHRISTMAS DAD, I MISS YOU LOTS.

What a thrill and relief to have found a lost piece of family history. Congratulations, and thanks for sharing with us.....Steve

Hardy - I can't think of a more important quest to spend research time on. Your father was a strong man and I'm sure right now he's showing your post to everyone he's sharing his time with, wherever that might be.

Hardy, that is one of the best "finds" I've seen posted here. Your dad was a very brave man as where his comrades. It is a good reminder to us all to remember our Troops. A big salute to your dad and all our troops..... Those living, and those who have passed on.

Thanks for sharing,
Pepper

Thanks every one, my Dad may look old in the photo, he was only 16 and was released at 21 yrs old, starvation and the deseises
that go along with a diet of rice, sweet potatoes &/or the unlucky rodant will do that to a person.
