Primary Interest:
Prospecting
i haven't heard of anyone else finding Sapphires in Pennsylvania yet, so i am glad to announce that i have!

i have 3 lots on my eBay store for sale from what i have found. (low grade sapphires, medium grade, high grade, all according to price)

i found these in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area inside of a black mice granite. i noticed lots of blue crystals on top of the granite and i got excited as heck!

the colors of blue are from light blue to dark blue and all between, some are opaque, some semi-transparent.

EVERY SINGLE SAPPHIRE I FOUND HERE IN PENNSYLVANIA IS VERY FLUORESCENT UNDER A UV LIGHT TURNING RED COLORED!

enjoy the pics & let me know what ya think! even if im not the first to find any sapphires in PA, i don't know anybody around me that has yet!

I'm thinking mica schist is what you find it in. Nice finds!

Lancaster County PA does have a known deposit of dark colored corundum, the mineral name for sapphire. I have one here somewhere. I have never heard of a transparent one from there however, and it's not far from where I live.
