It has no date, measures 38.1 mm. reeded edge, non-magnetic .. looks like silver, but I haven't had it tested, although I did try the ice test, and the cube started to melt instantly.
The front is more true to the color.
Any ideas?

I posted this in the What Is Forum as as well if you are interested in the discussion there: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/what/594011-can-anyboddy-tell-me-what-i-found-today.html

I'm with Ozark, it looks like a generic 1 oz. silver round, if in fact it tests out to be silver.

Try the ‘ping’ test, dropped carefully on a countertop, should sound like a silver coin does.

Could try the ‘tissue’ test also, lay a piece of single-ply tissue over the round. It should appear white, unlike a clad non-silver coin that will appear dark.

Nice find btw.

Check with APMEX. I buy silver and gold from them. They have MANY rounds for sale. Look through their picture list. TTC

Very cool. Looks like silver from the pics. Did you dig this? Background story? Congrats

My son came home for Thanksgiving and surprised me with an almost new Sovereign XS-2 PRO as an early Christmas present. I had one years ago and loved it, but somebody else must have loved it more than I did I guess and helped themselves to it. At any rate, with my son armed with his TDI and me with my "new" PRO, we did a yard hunt at an older, now vacant house built in the 1940's. I found this and a few other coins and the normal yard junk, and he found a gold wedding band and a few coins. It was fun hunting with the Pro, and had some quality time with my son.

Nice find, I believe it is a silver "round". :occasion14:

Never surprises me what we find someone was not happy losing it but you were happy finding it Well done

SWEET! That's a handsome silver round. I have never seen another one like it either.

Thank you all! :occasion14:
