This is a interesting little item that was under $3.00. It's a small (3cm tall) fossil ivory carved depiction of the famous paleolithic era sculpture found in Austria in 1908. It's mounted a (7cm tall) beautifully polished stone of a dark granite, along with a green stone of some kind. There is no other information as to who made it or where it's from. You might think it's a bookend, but it's to small for something like that. I think it's just a pretty well made piece of art, possibly a museum souvenir. For under three dollars I wasn't gonna leave it behind. Plus it got me reading a little on this unique archeological find. What the original Venus of Willendorf was representing to the people near the Danube River 25'000 years ago will remain a mystery and one we can only speculate as to why she was created.
