I got together with a buddy to do some detecting today. I was expecting much since the beach is sanded in. I hit a small spot and found what looks to be a silver fish. We stayed at that one spot and managed to get just a handful of coins. We decided to head south in hoes of finding a spot less sanded in. I decided to detect the very edge of the slope, it was very hard to walk on and full of black sand. I figured I might find something there since it was hard to detect. My guess was right and I found a small 14k ring. I wonder if my detector is broken since it seems to be discriminating the big gold :dontknow: Clad total for the day was $7.51. Thanks for looking and happy hunting.

Nice ring. Gold is always a welcome find.

Your detector isn't broken, gold is just always tricky since the signals can vary widely based on size and purity. That's why I run in all metal about 95% of the time.

Congrats on the nice finds! :occasion14:

Way to read the breach and be rewarded. Nice gold and clad. Good job.

I was trying to be funny when I wrote that :tongue3: I always hunt in all metal too to try and get more info from targets :icon_thumleft: HH
