Congrats, Scott .
Neato large cent! Really a great find.

...and I think we should nominate this picture for the banner...

It's absolutely, without doubt, the largest pic I've ever seen of carpet here on Tnet :headbang:

All that aside, you've got a great indication of a good site... keep working it !

nice find! I haven't found a large cent yet. but then again, I just got started a couple of weeks ago and the ground has been solid until today. It's funny, when I tell people that i am on a quest to find a large cent, they look at me like I have 2 heads. when I get one, then they will know what I am talking about. How far down was it?

soon you will find one :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumright: :icon_thumleft: ;D :)

Hope you don't mind, I tried to re-size it for you...Rich

The picture is too big and blurry. Try using the macro setting on your camera then reduce the size with the photo editor that came with your computer.

OK, I'll put in the other of my two cents...

It really is a nice coin ! Certainly wish I was digging things like that !

...IF your camera has the macro function, use that.
If not, take the pic, load to PC, then CROP the photo, as opposed to resizing which just reduces quality of the overall pic.
Take your pics with the object on a piece of paper rather than the carpet.
Light gray, a neutral color is best... anything is better than a dark color which wil just make a big jpg file.
Outside sun-lighting is also best.

Have fun !
