I found my first two Wheaties today, '42-D and 47. I got permission to hunt an old amusement park. The park was in operation from 1931 until 1970. That has given Mother Nature 40 years to reclaim it, along with all kinds of human trash. The owner told me it has been hunted before, but the Wheaties tell me there should still be silver there. With the way it is overgrown it will mean hunting a very small section at a time.

For Prizm III owners, here are a few thing I discovered today. Any nickel reading I got turned out to be one of the small pulltabs. Crushed beer and soda cans read as a penny or quarter in all modes and all disc settings. It did not matter if they were an inch or 5 inches deep. Any good signal reading more than an inch or two wide turned out to be junk.

I hope this is of some help to other Prizm III owners.

Congrats on your finds. Wheaties could very well be an indicator of deeper silver. Everyone hunts different...thats why most places are never really hunted out.

Another tip for you on those chunks of can slaw....raise your coil up from the ground a few inches. If your still getting a good hit...it's probably slaw or beer cap. Plus it gives you a better idea of it's size.

Keep at the park...you'll hit more.
