We all know that searching boxes of quarters is an exercise in futility but from time to time I do anyways. Before Sunday I had probly searched 30 boxes total and had half dozen silver quarters to show for it- I do love to find them. On the other hand I try to do 10-15 dime boxes a week, but only till I find the '49 to finish my album. Well Sunday was dime day and as I made my rounds to all the branches they were not taking my folding $$$ as fast as I liked so my last two stops I got a box of quarters. One of them boxes was really good, started off with a silver showing- at least I know I got one. First roll from the corner had one too, cool! A few rolls later I found out there was silver showing on the bottom of the box too (like 3). Anyways 25 rolls out of 50 had silver and 3 or 4 had 4 silvers. Total take 46 Washingtons and 2 dateless standing Liberties. Enjoy the pics. HH Mark

That's the first time that I can remember hearing about and seeing pics of a great quarter box score.
I'm impressed, as it is very challenging to get quarters,especially out of a box.

Unfortunately not.

Wish I could have bought that bag off a counting machine before it got all dilluted- thing is there was silver in the first roll and silver in the last so chances are there are a couple more boxes out there with more than a few. I copped another box today hoping to find one of them and got 1 silver. Think I will try another one or two tomarrow along with the regular halves. The thought of a merchant getting these rolls just makes ME ill. HH all, Mark

What a great find! In the last four years I've only found 26, most from tellers trays. They are the rarest and that many is like a box of 500 40%!

I like searching quarters.

But I search to KEEP the 2009 territory quarters (I have found less than a roll of each one so far, so I know they are somewhat rare. And the numbers say they WILL be rare. So I keep them)

PLus I search for 2 errors. I FOUND one of hte lower leaf Wisconsin error, and I am looking for the Rust quarter from Kansas. So I search all the quarters, looking for those, and find a silver once in a blue moon.

ANyone finding any 2009 nickel or dimes yet? I still have found zero of each! Tough ones to find!

As far as the keys goes there were no 32's but they were all 30's-50's, one lone '60d was the youngest of the bunch. I did find a couple nice ones to upgrade in my folder, I cheated on my folder since quarters are so rare and most of the ones I do find are '64 I highgraded my dads junk silver bag and am only missing 5 to finish it.
I'm on the hunt for a brother/sister box now, picked up a box yesterday and got a lone '64, picked up 3 today. Now all of my dime banks are on notice to have an extra box of quarters/week for ME. Half tempted to do what I did in '08 the last week before my sabatical, I changed my large orders to dimes- did pretty good with 60 silvers out of 30 boxes. Maybe quarters would do as well. HH all, Mark
