Yesterday, my wife was hurrying to get out of the house to attend a meeting when she lost one of her pierced earrings. Her quick survey within the house produced no results, so she asked me for help while sprinting to the car and then out the driveway.

After she was gone, I grabbed my no-frills L-rod with swivel handle in one hand and held the mate to her lost jewelry in my other hand as a witness. The earring is an unusual design, so I intended to use the witness to help maintain a good image of the target in my mind. Holding the L-rod at the ready and with the earring’s image in my mind as best as I could maintain it, I slowly walked the house interior. I followed the pivot directions provided by the L-rod. I was led to the room where wifey does her makeup, and then to her cosmetics table. The earring wasn’t on top and it wasn’t beneath, so that only left inside its single drawer. I slid open the drawer and there was the earring in the front-left corner where it apparently had fallen without her awareness. Huzzah!

When my Better Half later returned, she was pretty darn happy as you can imagine. Bonus kudos for her ol’ man and carte blanche support for any near-term, dowsing adventures I might hatch. Folks lucky enough to have a spouse or who are living with a significant other know what I am talking about. :laughing7:

Yeah, once you get the methods right for finding lost items at home....comes in handy sometimes. I once had a small test nugget in a jewelry size ziplock bag, which was put in a nugget cup/large handle like prospecting shops sell. The problem, had 2 of them, when packing for a trip to Arizona put the cup with nugget in a box to take, Checking the cup, didn't see the nugget. Checked the other cup, which had been is a box of stuff not planning on packing. No test nugget, took things out of both boxes, nothing and looked all over the floor both rooms. Came back later a couple times, went through the same process of searching.

Once realizing it could be lost, decided to grab a pair of L-rods, a pair that would be packed for the trip. I pinpointed the spot, pulled out a rolled up carpenter's type cloth nail apron used for metal detecting. Couldn't find the nugget at first, apron had old screwdriver, spoon, clad coins inside, then rolled it back up. Later got to thinking about it, my rods still responded to the approximate spot. Looked down on the floor, test nugget in the tiny ziplock was on the floor at the edge of box, under where I unrolled the metal detecting apron.

Yes it happens often...My 71 year old Female friend asked me to check some of her jewelry for Gold. The pile of rings, ear rings, and chains was big as she had been collecting them for a half century..After I checked them for gold she went and sold them for $26,000...Yes , my reward was very good....Art
