Hit a field tonite I hunted last year. Was hoping I missed a few keepers, well I was right!

First keeper of the nite was a general service CW button and about 30 minutes with no keepers....no coins yet I get a nice smooth 12-12 signal and less than an inch deep out popped the KING of the V nickels!! 1885....woohoo!! Also got a toasted 1880 Indian

andthen I dug a couple lead bullets. How old are they any ideas??

Wow wow wow great nickel that's a couple hundred bucks. The billets are not old you can still buy them I shoot them at wood chucks

Dig until your arm falls off

Very nice coin and rare! Great job. Your bullets are considered modern although they look like they have been in the ground for a while.

just goes4ever to show u that with patience, research - you can get the goods! as always, great job.

Nice finds and nice pictures. Post one of the backside of the nickel please.

awesome find! Looking at some similar ones on ebay, you could have yourself a hundred dollar bill. Not bad for a nickel!

did u look at current auctions or completed ones? Looking at completed ones gives a better idea because everyone waits to bid till last 2 minutes lol

Very Nice ! Sure don't see that one come up very often ! It's kind of surprising to me that the mintage for the 1912-S is only 238,000
yet it's value is way less than yours which has a mintage of 1,472,700 .

nice, and it's in decent shape too :headbang:

:occasion14::occasion14: WAY TO GO ON THE RARE "V" NICKEL :occasion14::occasion14:

WOW terry, that is one gr8 find. It's not everyday that you find a rare coin like that one.

A big Congrat's on that one...

Way to go!!! A shame that IH wasn't an 1877.... then you would have had a really good day... :laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:.

Awesome find. I don't know what they put in the Soil in OHIO, but none of my nickles look that good. I dug a 1910 V nickel (My First) this morning, and it isn't good enough to photograph.

Superb find.
