Re: I don't think this is what it says it is

:icon_sunny: Take it to a rolex outlet. If they throw you out it is a copy. If they offer to repair, sell or buy it then I'd say it was real. My friend took a knockoff in for repair and they threatened to send him to jail for counterfiting. Another shop just told him to take his fake and get out. They will know at a glance.
Grog! I needs another Grog! :coffee2:

Wow.
I guess they have fake most everything these days, but it is cool.
It says Rolex!
My first cousins ex husband is a watch dude by trade, but if i send the pic and by the time we hear from him, some other intelligent TNetter would surely let us know.....
But i will forward anyway.
as of now.
Hope it is real!

Re: I don't think this is what it says it is

your rolex does not look like the real one as there should be a serial number on the back as all rolexes have that and if you look at the glass face with a magnifier you will see a faint R it should be near the 12 o'clock or sometimes the 6 oclock mark. it is hard to see but if you get it right in the light you can see it and if it not there then it is a fake.there is also a way to tell by the second hand sweep but I can not remember how that works. good luck and hope it real tho.

rolex's have no tic to their second sweep hand --only a smooth steady movement -- and have a serial number on them - clearly a "knock off" but fun to find a working watch.

That's what I thought when I did not see a serial number on the back. Well, at least it works, so far.

wonder where it was made? and who made it?

When I was working fraud crimes at the PD a lot of these fake watches were coming from Mexico. Monty

I'm not sure about that particular model, but I know on my submariner I found the serial number was between where the band is connect to the actual watch. You can't see it without taking the band off. Any good jewerler can take a quick look and tell you if it's real or not. If it's real it's great find. Here the one I found. It now lives in my safe.

Re: I don't think this is what it says it is

a quick review of the case on that watch shows the lack of detail, the poor quality plating...
the list of why this is wrong to be a rolex is long...
the back of the case should have a wealth of information on the watch, not just serial number...

look at the links on the band, lack of detail......the "highlight" on the case, same as the band..poor quality detail.

rolex is all about details. fine crisp lines...

Serial numbers are not on the back...is would be between the lugs under the bracelet.

1st indication that it is a fake is the fact that it is a quartz...
