I don't think it's a button
I was hunting a home site (the colonial era home is still standing) and found several flat buttons, buckles, etc. I thought this was going to be another button, but the shape threw me off. It is a hollow, half sphere with a prong or peg in the center. The peg is solid, slightly curved and leaning forward. I could tell it wasn't bent, but rather designed that way. Looks like lead in the photo, but is much harder. It had a light green patina on it when I first pulled it out of the ground. The AT Pro indicates that it is most likely brass, but I have no idea what this is. Any ideas?
