I Don't Have A Clue

Got out today with the new Ace 250 and was very impressed. The pinpoint mode is great. I don't see how anyone is having a problem pinpointing with this machine. I was using a BH QuickDraw II and that machine doesn't perform near as good as my new one. Anyway, I was in a small community called Atoy today hunting with the old lady, in front of an old grocery store that hasn't been used in probably 50 or 60 years. I got a good signal for a half dollar and about two inches deep. Out popped this thing. I don't really know what it's made of but it looks to have been gold plated at one time. It has sort of a rope design on one side around it. It had the string tied to what looked like an off center place to hold it. After cleaning it I could see it had part of the top broke off. Anyway, let me know what ya'll think. Warrior

Re: I Don't Have A Clue

Maybe a cameo setting, may have held decorative enamel (I can't remember what that's called), or it may have been a locket which held a picture, or possibly hair of a deceased person.

it looks like a locket that held a picture to me also............ I think the top broken part was where the chain went to wear on a necklace........HH

I think the word I was looking for was something like "cloisonne'"....the enamel that fills in to make decorative patterns.
