I don't even know what to start thinking this is..The one part looks iron, the other is stone/clay or something, the reason i say iron, is it is rusted.. soooo... It was found in an indian artifact lot..
The Indian artifacts are found this way: the property is on a creek that had Indians, it was high up (the land was) so they could be close by water, and avoid mosquitos (big problem in the south) and the area is also a slight slope to a sorta drop off to the creek. So Indian pottery, arrows heads, flint gets washed down the slope, and at the edge theirs trees, and dripping from the trees have cleared patches of ground, so the artifacts can be seen on these patches, no digging involved really.
I have found several flint chips here, and now this..
Is it Indian related? why is there iron on this piece of clay? possible age/if you know what it is?
