Guys I have to admit it, I’m tired.
Between working and digging my arms are spent, so I only went for a hour or so in the iron patch. I tried 50 tones and don’t even know if it worked or not. All I know is I pulled out nail after nail after nail and keep pinpointing deeper and deeper and to my disbelief BAM NOT A NAIL!!!!! 10” down below easily 6 nails so to be honest I not sure if I got a good read on it or not. Might of just dug another false a got lucky. But I love it. I researched them and saw a lot, but not this one exactly, so if anyone has a date period let me know. Thanks again IMG_0012.JPGIMG_0012.JPG

You scored a heel plate but how old. ???. Congrats. It was hot today, I got out for the first time this morning in a while with the new XP on an old football field that has been killed in the past. Found a clad dime and 22 pull tabs. Went to the XY screen for a while which really helped but by then it was so humid I had to quit.
Congrats

Congrats

I’m thinking mid 1800’s. Yeah Louisiana/Mississippi same thing people just don’t realize the humidity we have on top of the high 80’s, 90 degree sun. It’s suffocating.

Hey Truth you’ve been working real hard in the heat lately you deserve a break. Take care.

Nice find!! I haven't found that pattern yet.

Congrats Truth!!! yours looks a whole lot better than mine. When Dharmacy ID'd my heal plate he said he's seen that type turn up in CW sites before, and he estimated a date range from the mid 1800's up until around the 1880 to 1890. Once again, great looking heal plate and Thanks for sharing Bro... "D"

Thanks Possum it’s from a 1820’s site so I’m not sure. But I now I’m hype on these heel plates. When does this hobby end?

Great heel plate! Heel plates are cool relics.

Now I’m looking at heal plates, reading about heel plates, thinking about heel plates. If someone told me I’d be obsessed with heel plates, clay marbles and helm weights I would have bet my last dollar.

Nice heel plate! Possibly came off your boot from all the holes you have been digging? :laughing9:

Nice find, congratulations! :occasion14:
