I didn't think this was a button at first but - it is a modern blazer type

What do you think? I found it close to the door of an old building that has had many uses from private home to various types of small offices. It wasn't very deep and I thought at first it was from the bottom of a piece of office furniture.

I've been soaking in in peroxide and now I think I see that it is actually a button (?)

It is about the same size as a penny.

Any ideas as to when it was made?

Hi Breezie!

Yes it is a loop - sorry the pic wasn't that clear. I cleaned it up a bit with a sewing needle -

It's a really thick one; is it heavy? The front looks like pewter, and the back looks like iron. Maybe some of the button folks will chime in. . . .calling VaYank!
