As I opened up the the little tool box I felt like I used to at Christmas. A lot of packages in there, nicely rolled up in rags, toilet paper and paper towels. 90% of the stuff is common or little above average common points. A nice little flint hoe a thin Dalton and a large Gary or two. Also a point or knife made from metal and then I got to the big stuff. two large points and here's pictures of 'em. When I saw these I wasnt excited anymore. Who ever made them signed them, thank the Lord. It's hard to see but if you look at it under magnification you can see the date and an S with a circle around it. There was NO patina on the big ones at all. Thanks for the help and does anyone know who signs there stuff like that???d2

Ya know, upon reflection, the knappers who sign thier work are elevated in my eyes, as opposed to the ones who don't. Thanks for sharing your experience, that first one is a beauty!

I think the same way. If I could make them I would sell 'em but I would put my name on the worst side. The person that did these is an artist, no doubt. If I could find out who it was I would probably buy some from him...d2

Glad this story has a happy ending. Nice reproductions.

My friend Gary is a "Master Knapper". I'll ask if he knows who "signs with a S within a circle.
I'm including some "Points" that Gary gifted me with. Hope you like them.

This is the reason I haven't been adding pictures, I can't find any way to down-size them on this new HP printer. Sorry.

Those are some nice pieces he made. If I wind up with these, I did offer to buy them along with another piece or two, they will go on the wall in frames. If I could knapp I would have the walls covered in 'em. That is an art and an artist I aint...d2

here ya go
nice pieces too!!

Much obliged Treefrog.

He does beautiful work, these points were done at his free monthly class. The eagle one was personal for me. I don't make it to his demo's as often as I would like. Every time I've gone, I've come home with a new point. :laughing7:

I'm about ready to throw out this HP and bring my old one back in. As fancy as this all-in-one is, I just can't find any way to edit my pictures.

start button/programs/acces/paint drag and drop ur pic into it, go to "image" select "stretch/skew", make both levels about 50% and save pic as a new name so it doesnt over write the original one.

Now that's what I'm talking about!! :laughing9:

I never even knew that feature was there. Just one of the many things I don't know about this computer. (Yet.)

Thanks again!! Now maybe I can post some pictures of my coin finds too.

Good to know there are some guys out there still signing their pieces, you have to respect them.

I'm a silver smith and I wouldn't let a piece out of my little shop without my sign on it............ WE
