Yesterday I spent an hour in my yard and only found a nail and a screw. Today I went about 1/4 of a mile to an area about 50 feet wide between a state highway and some railroad tracks and found what you see in the picture-a big piece of metal, a Pabst beer can, the top of a Stroh's can, a round thing that says "Western" something on it, a chrome lug nut, and a couple of other things. I still haven't found any coins-maybe next weekend....

They're coming, Dave. Soon. I keep as many of the aluminum cans as I can. I throw them into a big bucket and when I have enough I go cash 'em in. May not 'be' coins but they are 'worth' coins. GL and HH

Have you tagged along the driveway? Along the back fence too where the young 'uns always climb over? The wood chips at playgrounds? The local dog park where mom always throws a ball for dog?

Laater...

sorry to hear no coins yet. my 250 is a coin magnet . I usually run the sens. as high as possible without falsing in jewely mode. hit up the neighbors yards, driveway to front door area and under the clothes line. those are good spots for coins.

i can say one thing.......Just never give up, because one day it will just turn around and everything will just fall into place.........HH ;)

Coins will be popping up here and there! Good luck

Some days are just worse than others...but the bright side is you have silver and gold to look forward to yet...you already passed the aluminum goal... :)

D in KY,

keep swinging. ;D

Think a lot of folks were on that strip
between the RR and the highway?

More coin where folks got together,
spent time, or passed by often. ;)

Them coins will come.

have a good un..........

Hang in their Dave, you just haven't found the right spot yet! I live in Kentucky (for now) and the pickins are pretty slim around these parts. People just didn't have money TO drop and if they did accidently drop a quarter or dime, they looked and looked until it was found.

There was quite a bit of civil war activity here in KY, you might want to consider researching old winter camp sites, skirmish areas and troop movement lines? Personally, I would much rather find an old three ringer as opposed to a silver quarter or dime anyday.

Good luck and keep swinging....you luck will change.

If you can gain access to a few old homesites from the turn of the century, you'll probably start finding silver coins, as those people did have money.

Don't get discouraged- this forum
makes it look like all MDer's score
all the time with nice finds-- I don't
believe thats the case. I have more
off days than good ones. Usually find
clad!!! ;D Have You tried your yard??
Found over 30 coins just in My yard.
Playgrounds,parks,fairgrounds,etc.
Research is key to old coins!!
Its a hobby- just have fun! :)
Good luck & HH
