I'm not nearly as familiar with Texas points as some here. I was hoping for an opinion on this superb gift from Natchitoches. From what I can figure It looks like a Scottsbluff to me but I would like some input. (The stemlike area has been smoothed) Thanks

what is the size of it?

What a nice gift. I do not know Texas points but there are a lot of Texas hunters here. Killer horizontal knapping.

Big time cool gift! Thanks? Its dead on three inches.

Check Firstview and see if it matches for you. Or maybe a Holland might be closer by the base. If you ever want to regift it Ill take it!

Ha.. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks

Well.. I guess I was hoping I might get some quick help To save me A little research time. But after Reading up and some studying photos I'm 99 percent sure its an Eden.I still haven't found My first paleo.. but I was given one as a gift.. that's almost just as good.. what a big thing for someone to do ! Its beautiful!

Having one given to you may be better than finding one. Well.... In a way. It shows a huge heart in the one that gives the gift. Good ol Natch!! Miss him.

You make a good point. I think he only got a time out... he will be back.

That is a hell of a gift!! That is a either a Firstview or Scottsbluff and worth over $1000. If it is first view it will be worth probably over $2k. I do not think it is a Eden. I mean they are so nearly close in manufacture it is really hard to determine which type. I've handled every type i have listed here and i believe it to be Firstview. It is definitely a Cody complex point with the collateral flaking to the medium ridge. The way it goes down the base is what is leading me to believe it might be Firstview.......Wow that was one hell of a gift!! Those prices are the average for that type point at that length and with a nice material like this one is..................

I was truley blessed. I have been looking at the Firstview. I am humbled by this gift more than I can tell you. And that wasn't all.. also a beautiful blade.. and several bird points. Here is the blade.
