I could use some help with an old button

Today I was going back over some yards that I MD'ed this past week and I found a few more keepers. I found a piece of play money, a whats it, a tootsie toy, 4 wheat's and this old lion button.

I know nothing about buttons and I was wondering if anybody would by chance know how old it is or anything else about it.

I wonder what piece of garmet that used to be on and who would wear it? Unique find. No makers mark on the back so i can't help you.
