Dec, 19 th , No snow on ground and the ground is still not frozen in the woods under the leaves and on the south facing slopes . The place I tried a go on this morning was both leaf covered and south facing . An old intown creek bank . I did not find much with my M. D. A little clad and a couple of do dads ! I did find a nice brick dump and found these 2 nice collectable portland bricks ! Both pics are in situation just as they were found laying in the pile on the ground ! Probably More there as I did not dig for any today ! But I will go back and sort through the pile this spring . Portland Stoneware Co. operated in Portland Me. on Forest Ave from 1846 to 1946 ! Happy Holiday Hunting to all and to all a good signal ! MaineRelic

Love those bricks! I have collected a few and spent the better part of two weeks digging through dirt piles pulling bricks during street work where the old brick street was still under the asphalt.

Pulled enough to build a nice sized patio, when I sold the house the new owner bulldozed the house...and patio, I did grab a few cream city brick that had been part of the foundation of my old house.

Thanks for sharing. :icon_thumleft:

Nice looking bridle rosettes (if that's what they are)! Would love to see a pic of them cleaned up - front and back. Thanks!!

Nice finds MaineRelic glad to see you getting out. If you want some old bricks just come on over to my house. :laughing9: :laughing9: Merry Christmas

Love old bricks,I have several that I have picked up along the way. My wife hates em. :dontknow:

Yes! What are the do dads? 8) Lisa would have a fit over those bricks! She's always bringing them home if we run across any while hunting. Looks like a great place to be.

Nana :)

Hey Eric . the first Pic laying on the shovel handle is a bridal boss , the first I have dug of this type . I still have not cleaned it yet as I am also watching the football games as I type this ! The pic of the gold coin looking object is a bit of a joke ! I did dig it this morning though . It is a gold colored wrapper for a candy/chocolate coin. I straightened the wrapper out and thought it would make a cool looking photo !

Bricks ha If you want bricks come on back up north. Kirks onto this ghost town , no joke, and there are large piles of bricks everywhere that's why we were pretty sure we had the spot .Has to be next spring though the road and the weather kinda gave out just as he was finding it. I've noticed the southern exposures are still workable but it'a still cold as -ell . Keep working all that new area i look for your posts all the time. Happy holidays to everyone Goldbill

Nice finds! thought your bridle boss was a muffin button,
My girl brought home an eyeballed brick, it also is not listed in the companies patterns, Dover Brick.
