Well the number is somewhat obscured. A4839 is what I'm seeing. I'm not sure really what those numbers indicate and I've seen these red reference numbers quite a few time on old china. It is a rather attractive set.

Very nice. If you hadn't said it was Aynsley and shown the mark, I would have been sure it was Coalport. It's very, very similar to their "French Noble" Pattern:
