I can't believe this showed up in my scoop ....

...but I found this watch on the beach in the dry sand about 3 weeks ago. My wife Jane and I have been hunting this beach almost everyday for 8 years (the last 2 years with detectors), and we never expected to find anything like this. It is our best find thus far.

I can't believe someone would just shrug off the loss of a $3000-$6000 watch! I would have went and bought a $1000 detector to find my $6000 watch... Heck, at least rent one!

Where is the beach Funky, that would tell me alot. OBX by any chance?

Yeah, your right Jim, the tourists make our beachs trasy and dirty... Little known secret is thats what color our beachs look like when you guys leave....

The beach is called Haad Rin, and it is white because it is a tropical coral sand beach. Although we find many coins and silver jewelry, Jane and I rarely find what I would call "luxury" jewelry,( gold, diamonds, etc.).
Once a month on the night of the full moon, there is a huge beach party, and young people (anyone under 30 is young to me), come from all over the world to dance and party all night. The last party there were over 10,000 party goers on the beach.
I can't imagine who would wear a beautiful watch like this to the beach. I feel sorry for the guy that lost it, but I figure, if I hadn't found it, it would be gone forever. As with all the treasures I find, I like to think that I rescued it from oblivion.
